Riding Safe in Niagara

Before Your Tour

  • Traffic Awareness: Highways around Niagara are packed with traffic, especially during tourist season. Stay alert and ride defensively.
  • Group Size: Tours are limited to 4 riders maximum, or 2 riders if inexperienced. This keeps everyone safe and ensures personalized attention.
  • Safety Briefing: All tours begin with a 9:30 AM safety briefing at the St. Catharines Husky Travel Center. We cover hand signals, formation, and emergency procedures.
  • Gear Up: Helmets are required by Ontario law. We recommend full gear — jacket, gloves, boots, and eye protection.
  • Stay Hydrated: Summer rides can get hot. Bring water and we'll make stops as needed.
  • Know Your Bike: If you're renting, take time to familiarize yourself with the motorcycle before the tour. Adjust mirrors, test brakes, and get comfortable with the controls.

Local Tips

Best Time to Visit

  • Peak Season: June through September offers the best weather, but expect more traffic and tourists.
  • Shoulder Season: May and October are ideal — fewer crowds, beautiful foliage (especially fall), and comfortable riding temperatures.
  • Weekdays: Niagara-on-the-Lake and the wine region get busy on weekends. Weekday tours often mean less traffic and easier stops.
  • Weather: Ontario weather can be unpredictable. Check forecasts and be prepared for changing conditions.
